जय श्री भगवान श्री कृष्ण गोविन्द आदि पुरुषं
त्वां नमामि अहं
शिष्यस्तेऽहं शाधि मां त्वां प्रपन्नम्
योगक्षेमं वहतु मां।
हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हरे!
हरे राम हरे राम राम राम हरे हरे!
Transliteration:
Jaya Sri Bhagavan Sri Krishna Govinda Ädi Puruśsm
Tvam Namami Aham
Shishyasteham Shaadhi Maam Twam Prapannam
Yogakshemam Vahatu Maam.
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare!
Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare!
Translation:
Glories to the Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna Govinda the Primal Person
I Salute You
O Lord Krishna, I am Your disciple; I surrender to You, I wish learn from You; therefore please take me in Your refuge and teach me.
O Lord Krishna, by the Infinite power of Your Infinite Cosmic Yoga and for the sake of my Yoga development in your service, please Guard me against all troubles, worries, anxieties
please Preserve what I have, Provide what I lack
and Guide me Power me Bless me
for what I pray for, Your mercy.
O Energy of Supreme Person, the all attractive Lord Krishna, glories to You!
O the Pleasure potency of Lord Ram, Please engage me in Your service!
Purport:
In the Vaishnava tradition of Spiritual practice, God is Personal and not abstract. The Personal God is called by various names like Sri Krishna, Sri Vishnu, Sri Ram etc all of which are considered as the expansions of the One Infinite yet Personal All Attractive Supreme Primal Spirit -- Sri Krishna.
In this tradition, the individual devotee considers himself as an eternal servant of the Lord, always thinking, saying and doing what the Lord desires simply for the Lord's pleasure. The devotee is then just a humble servant of the Lord, an instrument of the Lords Cosmic manifestation. This is the mood of surrender to God. Without this mood of surrender, True devotion is not possible. The devotee doesnt wish any name, fame, pleasure, pain, reward or punishment for himself. He just wants to be with the Lord because He Loves the Lord intimately and the Lord notices that and reciprocates. The Lord then like a supremely Loving parent takes care of His devotee with even more intensity.
Thus the prayer in essence, says:
O Supreme Person Lord Sri Krishna, the primal Original spirit Govinda, I bow to you in devotion.
I am your disciple, I surrender to you, Please Teach me.
I surrender to you, my self with all of my thoughts, words, action, all of my troubles, worries, anxieties, past-present-future, all of it, O Lord, at your Holy feet, at your Holy altar. Please accept. Please accept me as I am and all that I offer. Because this is what I am and this is what I have and I have now given it ALL to you at your Holy feet, at your Holy altar.
O Lord Sri Krishna, please forgive me for my mistakes, Help me wipe off my own karma by your Holy name, Please Guard me against all troubles, worries, anxieties,
Please Preserve what I have, provide what I lack but need for my own good and
Please Guide me, Power me, Bless me for what I pray for -- your eternal refuge and Love.
